Mastering the Single-Tooth Match

Replacing a single veneer in the smile zone is one of dentistry’s toughest challenges

- one restoration must perfectly match the patient’s natural teeth.

Male patient, early 40s, with an old, unaesthetic veneer on UL2. Rest of dentition healthy; occlusion / bite stable.

Treatment provided by Ignacio Farga Niñoles:

We replaced it with a feldspathic platinum foil veneer, chosen for its unmatched optical properties. Achieving a seamless result required multiple shade-mapping sessions, photos in varied lighting, and constant lab–clinician communication. Cementation was performed under rubber dam for maximum bond quality and control, with careful resin cement shade selection.

Outcome:
A restoration that blends invisibly with adjacent teeth.
